A word from "HQ"
Winter is here! For the most part (touch wood) it hasn't been
too bad, and we are through the darkest days. It is only going
to get lighter in the mornings from now on!
Along with the rest of the population, I am sure that you are
finding it harder to get out of bed in the mornings, and even
more of an effort to stay motivated in keeping up your fitness
and sizes that you have worked so hard to achieve. Well, I can
say straight up - if you can make it through winter, you can
do anything. Just think of it as the hardest part being the
fact that you have to get out of your nice warm bed. The easy
part is that we have everything planned for you! All you have
to do is turn up.
So
don't fall off the wagon this winter guys! Keep up the hard
slog, so that you don't have to start all over again in
September!

Is that a
Fact.....
Some Facts for
the ladies...
"I don't do strength training because I don't want
to Bulk up......"
If I had a dollar
for every time that I have heard this line.....
and the truth of the matter is......
NOT POSSIBLE!
-
Women do not have nearly as much testosterone as
men - In
fact, Women have 15 to 20 times LESS testosterone
than men. So you will NEVER be able to Bulk up
with regular strength training alone.
-
"Toning"
since Testosterone is not present in high enough
amounts in women's bodies to gain a huge mass, the
"toned" appearance (i.e Jennifer Aniston arms,
Jessica Biel tummies, Jessica Alba Bottoms etc),
comes from shrinking the fat that surrounds these
areas and shaping the muscles.

Lifting Heavy
- has been proven time and time again, Lifting
heavy builds strength! Not Bulk. This includes
your bodyweight! Pushups make you stronger!

Calories -
"Bulking up" - is Calorie Dependant... meaning if
you eat more than you burn off - then yes - you
will "Bulk Up" - BUT by "Bulk up" we mean "Get
Fatter"... we have said it before and will say it
again.. "Its not the Squats and Pushups that are
making you bigger - it is the amount of Chocolate
and Alcohol that you are putting away every night
that is doing it"

Muscle burns
calories - It's true..... the more lean muscle
you have (compared to fat) the more calories you
will burn just sitting on your couch. SO
basically, don't just stick to running this winter
because it keeps you warm - keep up with the
strength training and you will enter spring
looking and feeling beautiful and toned (not
Bulky!).

Bootcamp Rules &
Regulations
When you sign up for the
Original Bootcamp you agree to abide by the Rules
& Regulations that we have in place. If you do not
abide by these rules all members of your section
(and on occasion even your whole platoon) will pay
the penalty.
The most important rules are as
follows:
-
You must arrive at least 5mins
prior to each session.
-
You must give your Instructor
6hrs notice if you are unable to attend a session.
-
You must wear your uniform to
each session
-
Your Original Bootcamp T-shirt
must be worn on the outside (once the warm-up is
complete).
-
You must always address your Instructors by their
rank. i.e. Sergeant, Corporal.
-
You must not speak while an
Instructor is speaking.
-
Do not stop any given exercise
until you hear 'Steady!' from an Instructor.

Everyone loves a Sandbag Pas & Run, especially in
Adelaide.
